Isabelle Rongier is General Inspector as Deputy of ArianeGroup Chief Technical Officer, in charge of Technical Authority to secure major technical decisions in the Company for all the Space and Defence Programmes. This role includes a strong technical support to the Programmes during development, and anomalies investigation in production, as well as a validation of the technical decisions and assessment of relevant risks and opportunities. Moreover, as General Inspector she conducts the Flight Readiness Review or major tests process, adapted to the company’s responsibilities. Isabelle Rongier is also in charge of transversal activities such as pyrotechnic inspection, ground and flight safety conformity assessment, expertise career path, technical standardization, knowledge management and product cybersecurity. Before joining ArianeGroup, she worked 27 years at the French Space Agency, of which 20 years in the Launchers Directorate. She started as flight control engineer and advanced to the position of Technical Deputy Director, including Safety aspects. She has worked on all launchers operated from the European spaceport in French Guyana: Ariane 4 and 5, VEGA and Soyuz. From 2010 to 2015, she was member of the CNES Executive Committee as Director of General Inspection and Quality, in charge of internal audit and risk assessment at Agency level, and responsible for certifying the technical conformity of space operations to national space regulations (French Space Operation Act).
Isabelle Rongier has been IAASS President from 2013 to 2017. Isabelle Rongier graduated in 1988 from ISAR-SUPAERO ISAE-SUPAERO Institut Supérieur de l’Aéronautique et de l’Espace. Isabelle is a Knight of the French National Order of the Legion of Honour (2009), and Knight of the French National Order of Merit (2005).
